OUR PHILOSOPHY
At Roketto, our coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that strong fundamentals are everything We emphasise ‘form over function’ from day one, ensuring that every player develops the correct technique from the start — not just learning to hit, but learning to play the right way. This foundation allows players to grow without limits, avoiding technical barriers later in their journey. Whether you're just picking up a racquet or aiming for the world stage, our programs are built to provide a clear pathway from beginner to elite international competition. Every training stream — from junior squads to our pro-team — is designed and reviewed by international coaching legend Coach Wong Tat Meng, using international proven development methods. We don't just coach to play — we coach to grow champions.

“After over 20 years of working with national badminton associations and coaching some of the world’s top-ranked players and champions, this is a new and exciting challenge for me — to build an Australian champion from the ground up. Roketto has everything a player needs: world-class facilities, structured programs, and a professional environment. The only ingredient left is the players who are truly willing to put in the work. We’re not going to stop until we make it happen — until Australia produces its next badminton champion.”
“I trained for years in one of Indonesia’s top badminton clubs and competed at a high level before moving to Australia. When I joined Roketto, I honestly didn’t expect the facility and training environment here to be this good — it’s world class. Working with Coach Wong Tat Meng has completely transformed my game. His methods, discipline, and attention to detail pushed me further than I imagined. Winning the Australian National Championship came faster than I expected, and that’s a real testament to Coach Tat Meng’s program. I’m now focused on taking my performance to the next level and achieving major international results.”

Each session is challenging in the right way, with space to enjoy the process while working hard. He makes sure to push you, but takes into account your current state. Going to Roketto is, in other words, like a second home for me.
